Spring Birdwatching Field Trip
On Sunday, March 14 join author Joe LaFleur for a free audiovisual program about birds of the area. The talk will be held at the Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center from 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The program will help participants identify birds by sight and sound, and review species’ preferred habitat.
Immediately following the talk, Mr. LaFleur will lead a one hour long guided bird walk through Point Park. Mr. LaFleur will assist participants in identifying birds encountered on the hike. This program is designed for both beginner and experienced bird watchers. Participants 16 years of age and over must pay the Point Park entrance fee of $3.00. All National Park Passes are accepted (Senior Pass, Access Pass, Annual Pass) and may be purchased at the Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center.
Joe LaFleur holds degrees in wildlife biology and communications and is the author of Better Birdwatching, a series of DVDs about birds of North America. He has been collecting video and sounds of birds for over 15 years.
