Chattanooga Has Fun 2.5

The American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) has chosen Chattanooga for their annual Southern Conference. AIFD is the leading non-profit organization committed to establishing and maintaining the highest standards in professional floral artistry. With over 1,200 members worldwide, AIFD and its members are at the forefront of the industry in presenting educational and design programs.

Borrowing the Chattanooga slogan, “the Attractions only natural”, this conference will bring together some of the industries leading floral artists to explore eco-friendly “Green” solutions in the artistry of fresh floral designing.  The line up will include design presentations given by  Larry Kramer AIFD, CFD owner of the first LEED certified floral design studio and  Regina Berryman AIFD, CFD, an acclaimed Brazilian Designer who specializes in using proportions found in nature.

Conference Chair, Jay Borton AIFD, CFD, local designer at Ensign the Florist, is proud to host this organization at Chattanooga Convention Center on March 12-14th.  The conference will kick off with a Friday evening cocktail reception at the Tennessee Aquarium. On Saturday and Sunday, an all-star line up of outstanding speakers and award winning floral artists will be presenting programs in the ballrooms of the downtown Marriott Hotel. Mr. Borton reports that completed floral designs from each program will be on public display on the hotel mezzanine. All Conference programs are open to the public.
